Chander van Daatselaar
Independent Dance Artist
About.
Chander van Daatselaar is an independent dance artist that started his dance career at Jazz Dance School Bertha Huls in Doetinchem (NL) when he was 10 years old. From 2014 to 2016 van Daatselaar was a dancer at Lèfamm where he had opportunity to perform Walking Mad by Johan Inger with Rehearsal director Yvan Dureuil.
He continued with developing his skills further as he studied and graduated in 2016 from Fast track Dance at RijnlJssel (NL) and went on to study at Fontys School of Art Modern Dance theatre for a year.
After taking a gap year where he continued to grow his interest in dance, creating and acting, alongside other intermediate projects he attained work with the Caridiac Output dance company and became the face of 2 to Drive.
In 2018 van Daatselaar continues his training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (GB) Foundation contemporary dance course, followed up by BA Contemporary Dance Coruse, graduating with a first class honours in summer 2022.
The source for inspiration in creations over recent years was from a combination of the spiritual world and science with a particular interest in the human body and brain. Van Daatselaar created a choreography about how a Disharminisch Profile (difference between verbal and performance intelligence) influences the dancer (2022). Research where the focus point lay in the nervous system and different parts of the brain.
